CLASSY CAPE DRAFT FROM NARROW CREEK STUD
31 January 2018

John Everett's Narrow Creek Stud has enjoyed plenty of success over the past
12 months. The farm reared this season's brilliant sprinter Dutch Philip, winner of last season's G3 Cape Of Good Hope Nursery and who has earned over
R4 million in prize money.

Also breeders of last season's Winter Oaks winner Whose That Girl, Narrow Creek has a high class consignment of eight yearlings at the 2018 Cape Yearling Sale next month, with the draft including lots by such sires as Elusive Fort, Querari, Soft Falling Rain and What A Winter -the sire of Dutch Philip.

Remarkably, Narrow Creek were involved with champion sprinter What A Winter's first winner, first stakes horse and first stakes winner.

This surely bodes well for lot 95, a What A Winter colt whose dam is a four time winning daughter of "Flying Filly", Lupine Lady. The latter, by outstanding broodmare sire Wolf Power, won four of only five outings including the G3 Henry Eatwell Memorial.

Narrow Creek have also enjoyed success with G1 winner and emerging sire Querari. The latter is sire of lot 92 -a colt whose granddam is an own sister to G1 Gold Medallion runner up Monsieur Dominique.

Proven sire, and an own brother to the late, great Cape Cross, Great Britain has three lots in the draft -a filly from the same family as November Handicap winner Grand Format (Lot 37), a grey son of a five time winning daughter of Dominion Royale -damsire of Dutch Philip (Lot 68), and a colt whose stakes placed second dam is a full-sister to champion and G1 winning 2yo Gold Flier (Lot 71).

Former champion 2yo and G2 Godolphin Mile winner Soft Falling Rain has already made an impression with his first yearlings fetching up to R1.4 million. He is the sire of Lot 7, a colt out of a Fort Wood half-sister to
G2 performer Sky Marshal, whose other relatives including G1 winning sprinter Noble Heir.

Elusive Fort is a top class sire whose best include G1 winners Siren's Call and Lauderdale. He has a colt (Lot 72) by the name of Fort Love, whose dam is a Model Man half-sister to feature race winner Buscador, from the great Party Time family.

Dynasty's triple G1 winner Jackson is also represented in the Narrow Creek draft. The former Cape Derby winner is the sire of Live Wire (Lot 35) - a colt out of a winning half-sister to G3 Strelitzia Stakes winner Passive Resistance.
