The Mistico Equestrian Centre, the largest livery and show holding venue in the country, will host this weekend’s Cape Yearling Sale on Sunday.

It is the second year that Mistico, located between Durbanville and Paarl, has hosted this sale, with the venue, who also held last year’s Cape Mare Sale, having previously held the 2017 Cape Yearling Sale.
Mistico is a family owned business which was founded five years ago and it has become a showpiece venue, which has successfully hosted numerous high powered equestrian events.

(Barring thoroughbred auctions, other notable equestrian events to have been hosted previously by Mistico include the 2013 Junior South African Tent Pegging Championships, the 2014 Western Cape Arabian Show,  and the 2016 ITPF World Cup – Qualifier 1, held in August 2015 represented by South Africa, United States of America, Great Briton and Iraq.)

The centre is currently run by four full-time managers and has a working staff of 48 at the time of writing, with workers ranging from grooms to groundsmen.

It offers a number of attractions for clients including the biggest Indoor arenas in Western Cape with full infrastructure, as well as the biggest concentration of grass show-jumping arenas  in one location. Mistico also offers show stables totalling 240 units, and impressive, ample parking of 85 000 square meters!
The Equestrian Centre has is close to both the best accommodation and wine routes in the Western Cape and only approx. 45 min from Cape Town International Airport.
Guests travelling from Cape Town to Mistico should follow the N1 highway to the R304 exit, to Klapmuts. Then turn left onto the R304 and follow to 4 way stop before turning right onto R312 and travel 5,5 km where Mistico is located on the right.

Just under 100 yearlings have been catalogued for the 2018 Cape Yearling Sale, which gets underway at 13:pm this Sunday.
