Bosworth Farm Stud, whose notable National Sale graduates include Equus Champion and2013 Vodacom Durban July winner Heavy Metal, will, once again be represented at the 2018 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.

The farm offer just two yearlings at South Africa’s premier yearling sale but both lots look exciting prospects.
First of the Bosworth offering is a bay daughter of champion sprinter and leading first crop sire What A Winter (Lot 77). A half-sister to the progressive Toltec (who recently won two in a row for trainer Lezeanne Forbes), this well bred filly is out of a three time winning daughter of champion sire Jet Master and the top class racemare Cholula. The latter, a daughter of Bosworth’s former star sire Hobnob, won 11 races and beat champion Circle Of Life when victorious in the G2 Gerald Rosenberg Stakes a few years ago.

Bosworth also offer a colt by red-hot Kingmambo sire Ideal World, sire of champions Smart Call and Hermoso Mundo. This colt (Lot 402) is from the same family as the above mentioned Heavy Metal, with his four time winning dam being not only a ½ sister to the dam of that champion but also to six time stakes winner Skin Tight –dam of G1 Golden Slipper winner For The Lads. This is the family of current smart performer Social Order, and the G1 winning half-brothers Drum Star and Planetary Music.

Dr Neil and Lyth Orford’s Bosworth Farm Stud have been breeding high class racehorses for decades.
Heavy Metal aside, the farm’s other notable high class performers include multiple G1 winning filly St Just, and outstanding SA Classic winner Topa Inca. The farm’s recent winners include the above mentioned Toltec, smart stayer Odd Rob and Dromedaris.
