28 March 2018 | |
The Still Bay based Favour Stud will be represented by a trio of well bred yearlings at the 2018 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale. Cartier Champion, and proven classic sire, Duke Of Marmalade is the sire of Impressive Duchess (Lot 462). This chestnut filly is a half-sister to 3 winners, and is out of the Irish stakes performer Letsimpress from a top class international family. Third of the Favour draft is Born To Be Great (Lot 466), a colt by four time G1 winning champion What A Winter. This chestnut is out of the Favour Stud bred and raced six time stakes winner Lielums, whose own dam Cutey Lee won (the now G3) Three Troikas Stakes. Remarkably, Born To Be Great’s first three dams are all stakes winners! His second What A Winter is currently South Africa’s Leading Second Crop Sire, having been Champion First Crop Sire in 2016-2017. Among the high class racehorses bred by the Ernst and Engelize Du Preez owned stud are the likes of Woljayrine, Smokey Affair, Lielums, Elevated, and Perfect Promise Sprint winner My Emblem. Impressive debut winner Twist Of Fate, the very first winner for hot young stallion Master Of My Fate, was another bred by the farm as is impressive debut winner Miss Khalifa.
