The Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud will be offering a high-class draft of 12 yearlings at the 2018 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, set to take place in Germiston from April 24th to April 26th.

Hemel ‘N Aarde will also be offering two lots as agent, one on behalf of Allan Bloodlines.

The draft includes three yearlings by triple Equus Champion and current Leading Second Season Sire What A Winter. First of the trio on offer is  Freezing Fast (Lot 41), a colt whose dam, like What A Winter, is sired by multiple champion sire Western Winter. This colt is from the same family as champions Imperious Sue, Kelly and short-lived sire Victory Moon, as well as recent G1 winning siblings Real Princess and William Longsword.

What A Winter is also sire of an unnamed filly (Lot 269), whose dam is a Jet Master daughter of multiple classic winner Joshua’s Princess, and Superstrike (Lot 333). The latter is out of a winning Jet Master half-sister to the stakes placed six time winner Africa Rhythm.

Redoute’s Choice sire Time Thief, sire of Australian G1 winner and millionaire In Her Time, is the sire of a filly (Lot 411) whose dam is a full-sister to G1 Empress Club Stakes winner Stratos, while former Equus Champion and Dubai G1 winner Vercingetorix is represented in the Hemel ‘n Aarde draft by a colt (Lot 295) out of a winning half-sister to Dubai stakes winner Reem and to a stakes performer (who is sired by Vercingetorix’s own sire, Silvano).

The G1 winning 2yos Pathfork and Potala Palace are represented by a half-sister (Lot 135) to G2 Ipi Tombe Challenge winner Demanding Lady and a colt (Lot 382) out of four time stakes winner Competitor respectively.

Visionaire, sire of recent Fillies Guineas winner Takingthepeace, has a colt (Lot 496) on offer from the immediate family of Arc winning champion Sakhee as well as champion US sires Broad Brush and Capote.  European champion Twice Over is represented by an eye catching half-brother (Lot 304) to five winners notably G3 Algoa Cup second Storm Warning. This colt’s other notable relatives include dual Horse Of The Year and Hong Kong G1 winner Variety Club. Twice Over is also responsible for Twiceasfast (Lot 260) a filly whose winning dam is a half-sister to four stakes horses including recent Breeders Guineas winner Luna Child.

Current Leading First Crop Sire Master Of My Fate has a colt (Lot 501) whose G3 placed granddam is a full-sister to top sprinter and G1 sire Goldmark, while proven international sire Flower Alley is represented by a filly (Lot 317) out of a Galileo half-sister to champion and G1 Dubai Sheema Classic winner Sun Classique and to the granddam of outstanding Australian filly Houtzen.

Resident sire Alado, whose progeny include this season’s G2 Selangor Cup winner Rocket Countdown, is the sire of a full-sister (Lot 486) to the very smart Flying Winger, with her dam being a half-sister to Champion and Gold Cup winner Millverof.

Proven Storm Cat sire Where’s That Tiger has one in the draft –a filly whose dam is a full-sister (Lot 507)to Derby winner Winter Weather and ¾ sister to UAE Oaks winner Imperial Ice. This is the same Party Time family as filly standouts In The Fast Lane, Heaps Of Fun, Sally Bowles, and Consumer Credit.
