The Ceres based Lammerskraal Stud, responsible for the 2015 National Sales topper, will be represented by an exceptional draft of 16 yearlings at the 2018 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale at the end of the month.

Lammerskraal will be offering yearlings by proven sires Captain Al, Duke Of Marmalade,  Gimmethegreenlight ,Judpot, Querari , Silvano,  Var and What A Winter, as well as by such exciting young stallions as Master Of My Fate, Soft Falling Rain and Wylie Hall.

Deceased champion sire Captain Al is the sire of Captain Max (Lot 201), a bay son of the stakes placed Western Winter mare Maxixe. The latter is a full-sister to triple G1 winner and Equus Champion Capetown Noir and to G3 winning millionaire Across The Ice.

Captain Max is bred on the same Captain Al/Western Winter cross as G1 winners Carry On Alice and Tap O’ Noth.

Broodmare Of The Year Akinfeet, dam of Capetown Noir himself, is represented in the draft by Whisky Tango (Lot 83), a filly from the first crop of Redoute’s Choice’s multiple G1 winning son Wylie Hall.


Multiple Equus Champion and Leading First Crop Sire What A Winter has two in the draft, notably August Red (Lot 79). This chestnut colt is out of a stakes winning half-sister to five stakes winners,including G1 winners Nania and sire Red Ray, sired by What A Winter’s own sire Western Winter.
What A Winter also has a half-brother to G3 winner Fromafar (Lot 103), while another in the draft bound to favour is the Var filly out of Zimbabwean star Control Freak (Lot 125). This filly, whose relatives include star sprinter Bull Valley, is bound to be popular with buyers seeking a speedy racehorse!

Cartier Champion and proven classic sire Duke Of Marmalade’s quartet in the draft includes Imperious Duke (Lot 170), whose G1 winning dam is a daughter of champion and Met winner Imperious Sue, and True To Life (Lot 205). The latter, a half-sister to 2 winners, is out of a stakes winning Medaglia D’Oro half-sister to G1 Champions Challenge winner Deo Juvente.
