Perennial leading breeders Maine Chance Farms will once again be represented by a top-class draft at the 2018 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale. The draft includes yearlings by top resident sires Silvano and Querari and their Equus Champion Vercingetorix, as well as by promising and successful sires Duke Of Marmalade, Elusive Fort, Gimmethegreenlight, Master Of My Fate and Var.

Champion resident sire Silvano has eight in the draft, including a filly out of Oaks runner up Sky Pirate (Lot 38), a sister to the smart Vacquero (Lot 61), a colt out of top sprinter Mocha Java (Lot 209), a ¾ sister to Silvano’s July winner Power King (Lot 219),  and a full-sister to R2 million plus earner Punta Arenas (Lot 224).

Silvano’s champion, and Dubai G1 winner, Vervcingetorix has a trio of first crop yearlings including Saipan (Lot 268) –a bay son of G3 Strelitzia Stakes winner She’s  A Stunner.
Maine Chance Farms’ red hot stallion Querari’s yearlings should be in big demand this year, and the G1 winning son of Oasis Dream has five in the draft. Querari’s fivesome include a sister to smart filly Spring Wonder (Lot 44), a colt from the same family as champion Lomitas (Lot 186), and a filly from the famous “E” family (Lot 403).

Var, South Africa’s reigning Champion Sire of 2YOs, is represented by Kalgoorlie (Lot 182). This bay colt is a half-brother to 3 winners including speedy stakes winner Comtesse Dubois.

Other lots of interest in this draft includes a Duke Of Marmlade half-sister to G3 winner and July contender Horizon (Lot 35), a Elusive Fort colt from the same family as recent G2 Zabeel Mile winner Janoobi (Lot 259), and a Master Of My Fate colt (Lot447), whose dam is a Silvano half-sister to Winter Derby winner Set To Music (this is also the same family as Janoobi).
