Ben Sahd’s Waterford Stud will be offering five fantastic yearlings at next week’s Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.
The Waterford draft includes yearlings by Crusade, Flower Alley and Gimmethegreenlight, and is a must-see draft that no serious buyer can afford to miss.

First up in the draft is Royal Siege (Lot 17), a Jay Peg own brother to G3 Kings Cup runner up Royal Armour. Out of a three time winning Fort Wood half-sister to Equus Champion Kochka and G1 sprinter National Title, the intriguingly bred colt hails from the very same family as Jay Peg himself and is thus inbred to the influential broodmare Leucothea.

G1 Travers Stakes winner and proven G1 sire Flower Alley has a smart colt in the form of Striking Colours (Lot 129). This bay is out of a winning half-sister to 3 stakes winners, notably G2 winner and July third Bound By Honour –who won a total of 16 races in South Africa, Britain and Germany.

Philanthropist, whose notable runners include current Hong Kong star Singapore Sling, is the sire of Tidal Force (Lot 270) –a half-brother to six winners including G1 Golden Horseshoe second Shimmer And Shine, while prominent stallion Gimmethegreenlight has an eye catching son in the form of Royal Escapade (Lot 323).  The latter, bred on the same cross as G1 winner Gunner, is out of a winning Captain Al half-sister to four time stakes winner Cape Winter.

Middle Park Stakes winner Crusade is represented in the Waterford draft by Fast Draw (Lot 412), a colt whose Silvano sired dam is a half-sister to G1 Allan Robertson Fillies Championship heroine Geepee S, and second dam is a Complete Warrior half-sister to Cape Fillies Guineas third Lite Spark.
