WICKLOW STUD OFFER SEVEN AT NATIONAL SALE
20 April 2018

Rennie Price’s Wicklow Stud will once again offer a high-class draft at the Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.
The Wicklow draft is made up of yearlings by such popular stallions as Gimmethegreenlight, Master Of My Fate, Soft Falling Rain and Twice Over.

First of the Wicklow draft up for sale is Forries On Friday (Lot 15), a filly from the first crop of Equus Champion Soft Falling Rain. This impeccably bred filly is a half-sister to short-lived G2 Al Rashidiya winner Forries Waltz, with her dam being a half-sister to the dam of Cape Guineas winner Noah From Goa.

Soft Falling Rain, whose first crop have already made up to R1.4 million, is also sire of a chestnut colt (Lot 97) from the same family as Forries On Friday. This is also the family of outstanding Australian galloper Fawkner, and the great racemare Gladness.

Leading young stallion Gimmethegreenlight is responsible for Whendovescry (Lot 36). This colt is out of the stakes placed Silvano mare Silvan Spirit, who is bred on very similar lines to Silvano sired champion Kings Gambit. Whendovescry is also very closely related to the Gimmethegreenlight sired G2 Umkhomazi Stakes winner Hack Green.

Philanthropist, sire of the likes of Phil’s Dream, She’s A Giver and Singapore Sling, has two in the draft. His first on offer is Quick Wit (Lot 257), a filly whose stakes placed dam is a half-sister to G1 GommaGomma Challenge winner Pick Six.

Philanthropist is also the sire of Love To Give (Lot 446) –a half-sister to six winners including G3 Acacia Handicap third Be Mine Tonight. From an outstanding international family, this filly is from the same female line as the Scat Daddy colt who fetched 800,000 guineas at the recent Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale as well as impressive recent debut winner Powered Beauty.

Jet Master’s son Master Of My Fate has made an exceptional start to his stud career and the multiple G2 winner is represented in the Wicklow draft by Fate Mistress (Lot 216). This classically bred filly is out of a winning Silvano half-sister to Cape Derby winner Top Seller, and hails from the same family as fellow Cape Derby winners – Politician and The Sheik.

European champion and G1 sire Twice Over is the sire of an unnamed bay filly (Lot 448), whose four winning siblings include four time stakes winner Ocean’s Swift. This is the great Sister Sublime family responsible for champions Mazarin, National Emblem, Roland’s Song and Prairie Oyster among many others!
