HEMEL N AARDE STUD OFFER 12 AT KZN SALE

Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud will be offering nine yearlings, plus three as agent, at next week’s KZN Yearling Sale, due to take place at the Sibaya Entertainment World on July 5th and 6th.
The draft includes yearlings by such promising and popular sire as Captain Of All, Elusive Fort, Jay Peg, Pathfork, Time Thief, Vercingetorix and What A Winter.

Champion Sprinter Captain Of All is the sire of Simply Russian (Lot 16), a well related half-sister to G3 Christmas Handicap winner Rikitikitana and to G1 Thekwini Stakes second Rockin Russian.

Proven G1 sire, and Equus Champion, Elusive Fort is represented in the Hemel ‘N Aarde draft by a colt (Lot 36) whose winning dam is a half-sister to Winter Derby winner Cree Lodge, and this is the family of champion Hidden Fortune.

Resident sire, and proven sire of graded stakes winners, Jay Peg has three colts in the draft. His trio includes a colt (Lot 37) out of a winning Jet Master ½ sister to G3 winning sprinter Golden Gangster,  a colt (Lot 178) whose dam is a half-sister to G1 winning 2yo Geepee S, and colt (Lot 273) whose three time winning dam is out of G1 SA Fillies Guineas third Rhinestone. The latter is from the same family as Jay Peg’s top class son Silicone Valley.

Champion Pathfork has enjoyed a wonderful season this year thanks to his high class stakes winners Mighty High and Madame Speaker, and the son of Distorted Humor has two lots in this draft. First is a filly (Lot 109) who is a half-sister to five winners, out of a daughter of the Canny Lad sired stakes winner Good Tradition.

Pathfork is also responsible for Fireonthetrack (Lot 179), a colt out of a winning Trippi daughter of G1 Allan Robertson Fillies Championship runner up Glittering Idol.

Caulfield Guineas runner Time Thief, sire of Australian star and millionaire In Her Time, is represented by a single member of his first South African crop in the Hemel ‘N Aarde draft. This is a filly (Lot 182) out of a Captain Al own sister to Irridescence Stakes winner Leeward and this is the same family as outstanding sprinter Shea Shea –a G1 winner in both Dubai and South Africa.

Four time G1 winner, and Leading First and Second Crop sire, What A Winter has two daughters here. His pair includes a filly (Lot 62) out of a Dynasty daughter of five time stakes winner Helena, and a filly from the same E family as champion fillies Empress Club, Escoleta Fitz and Ecurie.

Proven sire Philanthropist, responsible for Hong Kong star Singapore Sling, is the sire of The Donald (Lot 77), a colt out of a four time winning Silvano mare from the family of G1 winner Young Lady, while Equus Champion Vercingetorix is represented in the draft by a filly (Lot 191) whose winning Oasis Dream sired dam is from the same family as star miler Bahri and outstanding US sire and four time G1 winner Quality Road.
