Daytona Stud the breeders of, among others, South Africa’s current Leading Second Crop Sire and multiple Equus Champion What A Winter, will be offering five yearlings at next week’s KZN Yearling Sale.

The Daytona draft includes the only yearling by four times Equus Outstanding Stallion Dynasty on offer at this year’s KZN Sale. This unnamed bay colt (Lot 260), a brother in blood to G2 Gerald Rosenberg Stakes third Pacific Dynasty, is a half-brother to 3 winners and his dam is an own sister to Racing Association Handicap winner Pacific Charm and ½ to Gold Bowl hero Pacific Warrior and the front running Algoa Cup hero Stonehenge.
Another South African bred champion represented in the Daytona draft is Soft Falling Rain. He is responsible for Sweet Resistance (Lot 114), a half-sister to two winners, including this season’s smart, stakes placed two-year-old Watsonia.

Watsonia was the first winner for G1 Premier’s Champion Stakes winner Potala Palace, and the latter is responsible for Sweet Chin Music (Lot 70), a half-brother to 4 winners including recent 2yo scorer Falcon Rock. Sweet Chin Music is out of a winning Jallad half-sister to the remarkable, Daytona bred globetrotting sprinter Tiza, a group/graded stakes winner in both South Africa and France.

Ideal World has enjoyed a superb season in 2017-2018, with the son of Kingmambo’s recent high class performers including unbeaten 3yo Rainbow Bridge and former KZN graduate, and G3 winner, Inverroche. He is the sire of an unnamed half-sister (Lot 254) to five winners headed by G2 The Debutante winner Winterinthewoods.

This filly is bred on the same Ideal World/Fort Wood cross as recent Kenilworth Fillies Nursery winner Coral Bay and G1 filly Persian Rug.

Multiple G1 winner Wylie Hall, a son of triple Australian champion sire Redoute’s Choice, has a colt (Lot 70) by the name of Twilight Moon in this draft. He is out of a three time winning own sister to Thekwini Stakes third Six Blue Notes, from the same family as Equus Champions Kochka and Jay Peg.
