Ashley and Rose Parker’s Ascot Stud, perennially among South Africa’s top breeders, will be offering eight quality lots, two as agent, at this week’s KZN Yearling Sale, set to commence this Thursday at 12:00.

Two of the Ascot draft are sired by the form’s homebred July winning champion Bold Silvano, sire of recent G1 Tsogo Sun Sprint winner Bold Respect.
First of the Bold Silvano yearlings up for sale is Born To Rock (Lot 8), a half-sister to the promising Winter Derby entrant Rock My Soul.
This filly, a direct descendant of the Flying Filly Mumtaz Mahal, is from one of the finest families in the stud book, with her relatives including international stars and G1 winners Alandi, Aussie Rules, Alborada, Albanova and Yesterday.

Bold Silvano is also sire of Bold Phoenix (Lot 220), a colt out of a stakes placed daughter of emerging broodmare sire Tiger Ridge from the family of G1 winners Arabian Lass, Arabian Beat and Smart Banker. This is also the family of international legends Vaguely Noble and Minding.

Proven G1 sire Flower Alley, the only sire in the country to have sired a Kentucky Derby winner, is the sire of the cleverly named Diagon Alley (Lot 86). This filly is a half-sister to 3 winners, notably stakes performer Singing In Seattle, and her Captain Al sired dam is a ¾ sister to G1 winners Al Nitak, The Sheik and Derby winner Top Seller.

Master Of My Fate, whose first 2yos this season include classy stakes winner Twist Of Fate, is represented by Im Global (Lot 181), a filly out of a 3 time winning daughter of Golden Slipper winner Golden Silvino, while Mambo In Seattle filly Ample Glory (Lot 214) is out of a half-sister to Australian G2 winner Fast Clip.

A P Indy sons Just As Well and Marchfield are also represented in this draft, with Just As Well the sire of a colt, a half-brother to recent winner Wild Curve, from the family of champion Vespa (Lot 74), while Marchfield’s son Proud Warrior (Lot 279) is out of National Assembly’s stakes winner, and SA Oaks second, Proud Classic.

Among the numerous top performers bred by the Ascot Stud over the years are the above mentioned Bold Silvano and Bold Respect, SA Nursery hero Arabian Beat, Cape Guineas star Elusive Gold and multiple G1 winner Smart Banker.
