BEAUMONTS EYE CATCHING EIGHT!
20 July 2018

Anton Shepherd’s Beaumont Stud, best known for producing dual Horse Of The Year Variety Club, will be offering eight juveniles at next month’s National Two Year Old Sale in Germiston.

The farm’s draft includes lots by such proven stallions as Elusive Fort, Judpot, Twice Over and What A Winter, international G1 sire Flower Alley, and popular younger sires Jackson and Vercingetorix.

Sire sensation, and European champion, Twice Over has made a blistering start with his first crop including the likes of July winner Do It Again and G1 winner Sand And Sea. He is represented in the Beaumont draft by a filly (Lot 340) whose six time winning dam is a half-sister to the Beaumont bred superstar Variety Club and Mauritian Horse Of The Year Rhythmically. A six time Equus Award winner, Variety Club made history when landing the G1 Champions Mile in Hong Kong back in 2014.

Mr Minister is the name of the Judpot filly (Lot 54), whose three time winning Jet Master dam, a half-sister to 2 G3 performers, is out of Diana Stakes winner Slinky Malinky. This filly, whose fourth dam is US champion Revidere, hails from the same family as such top performers and sires as Cryptoclearance, Harlan’s Holiday and Boldnesian.

Equus Champion Elusive Fort, whose current stars include such high class graded stakes winners as Elusive Heart and Secret Potion, has two in the Beaumont draft. His colt (Lot 184) out of the winning Carolina Cherie, an own sister to G1 performer Lubricator, is a half-brother to a four time winner, while the Elusive Fort filly (Lot 233) in this draft hails from the same family as the graded winning siblings Catherina Lady and Elegant Al.
Dynasty’s triple G1 winning son Jackson is represented by Generous Jack (Lot 272), a half-brother to 2 winners including five time scorer Georgeous Gaby, while Equus Champion Vercingetorix is represented by a member of his first crop in this draft in the form of Great Warrior (Lot 274). The latter, who hails from the same family as Preakness Stakes winning sire Exaggerator, is a half-brother to 4 winners notably Cape Nursery second Amber Palace.
Other exciting lots in the draft include a What A Winter half-brother to G3 Cape Summer Stayers second I Travel Light (Lot 344), and the Flower Alley colt who hails from the same family as Kentucky Derby winner and breed shaping stallion Unbridled (Lot 443).
