Eugene Freeman’s Boland Stud will be offering three quality lots at the 2018 National Two Year Old Sale.
Boland’s trio, two of whom will be offered as agent, are all by exciting and or proven top class stallions, with all of Duke Of Marmalade, Silvano, Var and Wylie Hall represented in this draft.

Newhaven (Lot 220) is the first of this string on offer, with this colt being a member of the first crop of Redoute’s Choice’s multiple G1 winner Wylie Hall. He is a half-brother to four winners, notably game Gold Vase winner Grey Cossack (like Newhaven, sired by a Danehill line stallion).

Cartier Champion and five time G1 winner Duke Of Marmalade has made a really smart start with his first SA two-year-olds in 2017-2018 including the high class filly Santa Clara. He is represented in the Boland Stud draft by a colt (Lot 254) whose stakes placed (at two) dam is an own sister to East Cape champion and multiple G1 winner Copper Parade and fellow high class performers Copper Trader and Copper Jet. This colt, whose second dam is sired by Duke Of Marmalade’s close relative Al Mufti, is from a truly exceptional family and he must be one for any buyer’s short list!

Champion 2YO Sire Var is the sire of a colt (Lot 441), whose winning dam is an own sister to Easter Handicap Great Rumpus and half-sister to exported Champions Cup winner Master Plan. This is the same family as champions Along Came Polly and Young Rake, with the colt on offer being inbred to the breed shaping stallion Storm Cat.

The Two Year Old Sale will take place at the TBA complex on August 16th and 17th, with trading due to get underway at 11 am each day.
