SIRE POWER GALORE IN CONNEMARA DRAFT
25 July 2018

Cape farm Connemara Stud will be represented by a small but select draft at the 2018 National Two Year Old Sale next month.
Connemara’s six strong draft includes lots by such proven and promising stallions as Duke Of Marmalade, Elusive Fort, Jackson, Judpot and Oratorio.

Former Two Year Old Sale top lot Jackson has two daughters in the Connemara draft. His daughter Latoya (Lot 116) is out of a winning Silvano mare whose third dam is legendary Broodmare Of The Year Fall Aspen (to whom Latoya is inbred). Triple G1 winner Jackson is also the sire of an unnamed filly (Lot 410) whose winning Silvano sired dam is out of seven time stakes winner Nik-Nak.

Cartier Champion Duke Of Marmalade, sire of more than 50 stakes horses worldwide, is the sire of Duchessofcornwall (Lot 99) whose winning dam is out of four time stakes winner The Eden Project and this is the same family as Gold Bowl star Proud Pilgrim.

Champion and triple G1 winner Elusive Fort is an outstanding sire of fillies and he is represented in the Connemara draft by his daughter Elusive Rain (Lot 5). This filly, whose dam is by top broodmare sire Spectrum, is out of a half-sister to 3 winners and her third dam won the SA Oaks.

Former Equus Outstanding Stallion Judpot, sire of current high class performers Coral Fever and Sniper Shot, is the sire of Jury (Lot 348) –a colt whose Fort Wood sired dam is a daughter of G1 Empress Club Stakes winner Legality, while red hot sire and European champion Oratorio is represented by Mary O (Lot 381).  That filly, a half-sister to a recent winner, is out of a stakes placed winner of four –who is closely related to Hong Kong Horse Of The Year and multiple Champion Sprinter Sacred Kingdom.
