Gelykfontein and Hadlow Studs, both long-time supporters of Bloodstock South Africa, will once again be represented at the National Two Year Old Sale.
Schalkie Van Der Walt’s Gelykfontein Stud will offering four two-year-olds at the August auction, with his draft including lots by the likes of Master Of My Fate, Pathfork, and Mambo In Seattle.
July Cup runner up and prolific sire of winners Main Aim is the sire of Main King (Lot 46) –a chestnut son of G3 Pretty Polly Stakes winner Sheztheclubqueen, while proven G1 sire Mambo In Seattle, whose best offspring include such as Same Jurisdiction and Majestic Mambo, is responsible for Mamba (Lot 198).

This colt, a half or full brother to 4 winners, is out of a half-sister to six time US stakes winner Gasia.

Jet Master’s top class son Master Of My Fate has made a smashing start with his first 2yos, and the son of champion Promisefrommyheart is represented in this draft by Island Mistress (Lot 416). This filly, a half-sister to 3 winners, is bred on the same cross as her sire’s Somerset 1200 winner Twist Of Fate and her dam is a sister in blood to Dingaans hero Special Squad.

Irish Champion and G1 sire Pathfork is another popular stallion represented in this draft. His daughter Double Lane (Lot 432) is a half-sister to 2 winners and was produced by Listed Queen Palm Handicap winner Petunia Path.

Hadlow Stud, in contrast, will be offering a single lot at the 2018 National Two Year Old Sale –and this is a filly (Lot 207) by the Fastnet Rock sired Dingaans winner Curved Ball. This Curved Ball daughter is out of a half-sister to seven time stakes winner All Ablaze (like the filly here sired by a Danzig line stallion) and her second dam is a half-sister to former star 2yo and G1 winner Mighty Crystal.

Arguably South Africa’s best value for money thoroughbred auction, the 2018 National Two Year Old Sale takes place next month at the TBA complex on August 16th and 17th.
