Both the Henham Stud and the Kjell Foundation will be offering two lots at the 2018 National Yearling Sale.

Karoo breeders, the Henham Stud, will be offering a filly (Lot 196) by the prolific winning producing sire Main Aim at the auction. This filly, who has been named Celestial Fire, is a half-sister to two multiple winners and her three time winning dam is a half-sister to numerous winners notably ten time scorer Ghost Dog.

Travers Stakes runner and proven G1 sire Mambo In Seattle is represented in the Henham draft by his son Seattle Samba (Lot 343). This cleverly bred colt (he is closely inbred to legendary producers Miesque and Weekend Surprise) is out of a winning granddaughter of Duchess Daba –the latter won eight races including both the G1 November Handicap and G1 SA Fillies Guineas.
The Kjell Foundation also offer two quality juveniles at this year’s Two Year Old Sale. Both are sired by Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf runner up Noble Tune (the only son of the top US stallion Unbridled’s Song ever to stand at stud in South Africa), whose first runners include the G1 performer Play Another Tune.
First of the Kjell Foundation on offer is Praise Singer (Lot 403), a half-brother to two winners, whose dam is a ¾ sister to G1 Premier’s Champion Stakes winner Fez.

Sweet Chariot (Lot 446) is a half-sister to five winners, notably Memorial Mile runner up Symbolik and this well bred filly’s dam is a half-sister to Golden Slipper winner Gilded Minaret. The latter had a Vercingetorix colt make R650 000 earlier this year at the National Sale.

The National Two Year Old Sale takes place this year on August 16th and 17th and the catalogue can be viewed online at www.bsa.co.za
