Leading Cape farm Highlands Stud part of Ridgemont will be offering a top class, 15 strong draft at the 2018 National Two Year Old Sale, which is set to take place at the TBA complex on August 16th and 17th.
Highlands draft includes two-year-olds by such prominent and popular stallions as Dynasty, Duke Of Marmalade, Flower Alley, Pathfork, Bold Silvano, Judpot and Jackson –and is bound to favour with discerning buyers.

The Highlands based, four times Equus Outstanding Stallion Dynasty is represented in this draft by a filly (Lot 16) who is a full sister to a four time winner and out of an Oaks winner. This is a top class international family whose members include such stars as Colonial Affair, Declaration Of War, Glad Rags II and current leading young North American sire Union Rags.

Dynasty’s triple G1 winning son Jackson, himself the top lot sold at the 2010 National Two Year Old Sale, has a filly (Lot 194) on offer who is closely inbred to legendary sire Sadler’s Wells. This filly, a half-sister to 3 winners, is out of a winning half-sister to Mauritian star Tabascorez.

Fellow Highlands Stud resident, and G1 winner and G1 sire, Pathfork has five lots in the draft. They include a half-sister (Lot 37) to no fewer than seven winners, notably local G3 winners Dark Justice and Franny, as well as high class international sprinter Sweet Sanette. Bred on the same cross as Pathfork’s top class daughter Madame Speaker, this is a filly with tons of paddock value already!

Other classy lots sired by the former Irish Champion include a full brother (Lot 134) to the above mentioned, triple stakes winner Madame Speaker, a filly (Lot 311) out of a stakes placed daughter of Dynasty, a colt (Lot 332) from the family of champion sprinter Stravinsky, and a filly (Lot 366) whose seven time winning dam is from the same family as champions Jay Peg and Kochka.
Flower Alley, the only sire in South Africa to have sired a Kentucky Derby winner, is represented in the Highlands draft by a filly (Lot 339) whose third dam won the prestigious G1 Yorkshire Oaks, while five time G1 winner Duke Of Marmalade, who has made such a cracking start with his first local runners, is represented by a half-brother (Lot 6) to Listed Irridescence Stakes winner Rose In Bloom.

Other eye catching prospects in this impressive draft include the Bold Silvano filly (Lot 222) whose granddam was a nine time stakes winner, the Wylie Hall colt out of high class race mare Malaguena, and the Kildonan half-brother (Lot 433) to speedy G3 Tommy Hotspur Handicap winner Wrecking Ball.
