Klipdrif Stud, perennially among South Africa’s leading vendors at thoroughbred auctions, will be offering a strong string, as agent, of 23 juveniles at the 2018 National Two Year Old Sale this month.
Their draft includes lots by such top class sires as Elusive Fort, Gimmethegreenlight, Oratorio, Pathfork, Querari, Twice Over and What A Winter, as well by such exciting younger stallion such as Master Of My Fate, Vercingetorix and Wylie Hall.

Triple Equus Champion and Leading Second Crop Sire of last season What A Winter is the sire of Chrome Gypsy (Lot 15). This filly is a half-sister to four winners notable G3 Godolphin Barb winner Punk Rocker and G1 Cape Fillies Guineas third Taffety Tart.

L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate winner and boom sire Gimmethegreenlight has four lots in this draft. His classy lots include a half-sister (Lot 17) to Darley Arabian winner Jet Jamboree,  a filly (Lot 203) whose four time winning dam is a half-sister to Java Handicap hero Fulcrum (Lot 203), a colt from the same family as G1 winner Michaelmas (Lot 227), and a colt (Lot 299) whose dam is a half-sister to G1 winning champion Dare To Dream.

Irish champion Pathfork, sire of unbeaten G1 Allan Robertson Championship winner Mighty High, is another popular sire well represented. His trio include a half-brother (Lot 58) to the stakes placed Sweet Tea, a colt (Lot 338) from the family of Kiss Of Peace and Harry Hotspur, and a full brother (Lot 345) to impressive debut winner and Nursery contender Mr Flood.

Four time G1 winner Twice Over, whose first crop has yielded July winner Do It Again and G1 winner Sand And Sea, has two here –a filly (Lot236) whose dam is an own sister to G1 SA Nursery hero Fallon, and a colt (Lot 362) from the family of July winning champion Trademark.

Other intriguing lots in the Klipdrif draft include a Querari half-brother (Lot 175) to G2 winner Solid Speed and former 2YO Sale topper Silva’s Bullet, a Vercingetorix filly (Lot 378) whose G3 placed dam is a half-sister to Merchants winner Silicone Valley,  and the Oratorio half-brother (Lot 106) to G3 Starling Stakes winner She’s A Giver.
