SANDOWN SIX TO STAR AT TWO YEAR OLD SALE
10 August 2018

James Armitage’s Sandown Stud, whose past graduates include the likes of Equus Champion French Navy and current sensation Brave Move, will be offering a high quality draft of six, one as agent, at the 2018 National Two Year Old Sale.

Sandown’s six includes lots by such sires as Master Of My Fate, Jackson and the increasingly popular Soft Falling Rain –and promises, once again, to produce a few really smart performers.

First of the Sandown draft on sale is a colt (Lot 120) by the farm’s successful resident sire Ashaawes –the sire of such as Asstar, Sanshaawes, Reim and Priceless Jewel. This colt, whose four winning siblings include stakes performer and recent winner Oklahoma Sky, hails from the same family as breed-shaping standout sire Pivotal and Equus Champion, and new Cape sire, Always In Charge.

Master Of My Fate, South Africa’s Leading First Crop Sire by winners last season, is the sire of a colt (Lot 147) who hails from the same female line as international stars Elusive Quality, Margarula and Anees, while the Where’s That Tiger filly (Lot 178) out of Bright Thing is not only closely inbred to the great mare Crimson Saint but also hails from the same family as 2018 July runner up Made To Conquer!
Jackson, whose first 2yos last season included G1 performer Can You Feel It, is the sire of a colt (Lot 275) out of a full-sister to champion Hide Out who is closely related to G3 Politician Stakes winner Blaze Of Noon, while proven G1 sire Black Minnaloushe is represented by a filly (Lot 376) whose dam is an own sister to Guineas winner Syracuse.
Equus Champion Soft Falling Rain (who was Leading First Crop Sire by Aggregate at both the Premier and National Sale) is represented in this draft by a colt (Lot 240) out of the Hard Spun sired Gold Bracelet runner up Estidraaj. Closely inbred to legendary sire Danzig, this colt’s third dam is Equus Champion and multiple G1 winner Mythical Play.
The National Two Year Old Sale is due to commence on Thursday at 11:am sharp at the TBA complex in Germiston and the online catalogue can be viewed at www.bsa.co.za
