Cape farm The Alchemy will be offering a cosmopolitan draft of 11 lots at Thursday and Friday’s National Two Year Old Sale.
This draft is made up of two-year-olds sired by some of South Africa’s most in-form stallions.

Pathfork, himself a champion at two, made his mark last season with the high class stakes winners Mighty High and Madame Speaker. The former, an Equus Award contender, was unbeaten in two outings and won the G1 Allan Robertson Championship, while Madame Speaker won a trio of 2yo features to stamp herself as among the leaders of her generation.

Pathfork is represented in this draft by a colt (Lot 248) out of a winning daughter of Australian G3 performer Hello Boys, while another in-form sire represented in The Alchemy’s draft is Equus Champion Elusive Fort. The latter, sire of a hatrick of graded stakes winning daughters last season, had a pair of impressive winners at Kenilworth on Saturday including debut scorer Secret Depths.

Elusive Fort is represented here by two fillies –a filly (Lot 171) whose winning Jet Master sired dam is a half-sister to Flamboyant Stakes winner Laser Fan, and a filly (Lot 268) from the same star studded family as filly standouts Imperious Sue, Real Princess, Imperious Star and Oracle News.
Dynasty son Jackson’s pricey daughter Water Spirit made a smart debut on Saturday, and the triple G1 winning Jackson is represented here by a colt (Lot 253) whose winning dam is a half-sister to G2 performer Let It Flow and his third dam is a G3 winning Foveros half-sister to The Alchemy bred superstar Flobayou.

Resident Storm Cat sire Where’s That Tiger has two daughters in this draft –a filly (Lot 214) from the family of Irish 1000 Guineas winner Matiya and successful SA sire Toreador, and a filly (Lot 291) whose dam is a half-sister to Fillies Mile winner Hollywoodboulevard.

The Alchemy will also be offering lots by new sires, and multiple G1 winners, Captain Of All and Wylie Hall. Their Captain Of All colt (Lot 420) is out of a three time winning daughter of seven times champion sire Jet Master, while The Alchemy’s Wylie Hall filly (Lot 285) is a half-sister to five winners notably the speedy Somerset 1200 runner up Western Storm.
Thursday’s session will commence at 11:am, with the remainder of the sale due to continue on Friday morning.
