The Klein Drakenstein based Evergreen Farm will be offering seven yearlings, by sires such as Captain Of All, Pathfork and Pomodoro, at next month’s Cape Yearling Sale –due to take place at the Mistico Equestrian Centre on March 17th.

Former July winner, and South Africa’s Champion First Crop Sire of 2017-2018, Pomodoro is represented in the draft by a filly (Lot 38) whose dam is a half-sister to G1 performer and KZN sire The Assayer, while triple G1 winner and Equus Champion Captain Of All’s pair in the Evergreen draft are a filly (Lot 76) from the family of G1 winners Coral Fever, Ravishing and Villandry, and a filly (Lot 104) whose dam is a stakes placed daughter of leading sire Var.

Irish champion Pathfork, whose progeny include G1 winner Mighty High, has a colt (Lot 156) who is a full-brother to the smart six time winner Zeb, while Kingmambo stallion Ashaawes, sire, of among others, former star Cape Sale graduate Sanshaawes, is represented here by Lion Of Eden (Lot 18). The latter is a colt whose Var sired dam won three times over 1000m and hails from the family of top sprinter and sire Harry Hotspur.
Deceased Storm Cat stallion Where’s That Tiger has two in this draft –a filly (Lot 103) out of a daughter of champion Kundalini, whose relatives include classic winners Kooyonga and Roland Gardens, and a colt (Lot 177) who is a three-parts brother to the Where’s That Tiger sired G3 Sycamore Sprint winner Tiger’s Touch. The latter hails from a truly exceptional family, with his relatives including Investec Derby winning champion Golden Horn among others!
