Hanno Joubert’s La Berg Stud, a regular vendor at sales rings around South Africa, will be offering six classy yearlings at next month’s Cape Yearling Sale, due to take place at the exquisite Mistico Equestrian Centre.

The farm’s draft include yearlings by proven sires Elusive Fort and Pathfork, as well as by such exciting young stallions as Captain Of All and Legislate.
Former Equus Champion Elusive Fort, a prolific sire of high class winners, is represented by a colt and filly in the La Berg draft. His colt (Lot 8) out of Wintie is a half-brother to 3 winners from the family of such G1 winners as Alastor and Eyes Wide Open, while the Elusive Fort filly (Lot 179) out of Trip To Eden is out of a daughter of high class speedster The Eden Project.

Irish champion Pathfork, whose progeny include the likes of Mighty High, Miss Honey and Madame Speaker, is the sire of a colt (Lot 2) whose 3 time winning dam was produced by Listed Syringa Handicap winner Cool It Mon, while the Where’s That Tiger filly (Lot 118) out of Patina is from the same female line as top class sprinter Pinnacle Peak and champion filly Paita.

Champion Sprinter Captain Of All, whose first runners include the impressive winner What You Are, is represented here by a colt (Lot 5) from the family of G3 winner Conman, while Horse Of The Year and four time G1 winner Legislate’s first crop includes a colt (Lot 42) whose four time winning dam is a half-sister to the smart black type performers Dachmar and Sterling Land. This is the same family as SA Oaks winner Haute Cuisine.

The 2019 Cape Yearling Sale is scheduled to get underway at 12:30 on March 17th. Don’t be late!
