Oldlands Stud, will be offering seven high quality yearlings at the 2019 Cape Yearling Sale-due to take place at the Mistico Equestrian Centre on March 17th.

Oldands, the breeders of such notable graded stakes winners as English Garden, Shades Of Indigo, Go Indigo, Rocket Countdown, and Cat And The Moon, as well as former Cape Sale buy and Dubai campaigner Sanshaawes, will be offering yearlings related to such notable G1 winners as Posidonas, Captain’s Gal, Yquem, and Paita at this year’s Cape Yearling Sale.
Qunetra (Lot 7) is a colt by prominent sire Querari and he is a half-brother to four winners, notably the stakes placed winner of four, Tiger Play. This colt, who is out of the winning Captain Al mare Windspiel, is bred on the same Querari/Captain Al cross as this season’s G1 performer Head Honcho. This is an “appealing, well grown colt, with plenty of scope.”
European champion and proven G1 sire Oratorio is the sire of Hugs Accepted (Lot 62) a filly out of a 3 time winning daughter of Captain Al, and Oldlands’ Barbara Sanne describes the filly as, “She is a strong, mature filly, from the family of Shoot The Booze, Pay The Piper and Lucky Find.”

The hugely exciting Master Of My Fate, whose first runners include the top class Twist Of Fate and Kenyan classic hero Silverstone Air, is represented here by Zarina (Lot 100) –a half-sister to the very useful Borya from the family of Horse Of The Year Goldie.
This filly is “a well-grown, leggy filly with great potential.”

The farm’s resident Gone West sire Indigo Magic has two fillies on offer –Acantha (Lot 69) –a “precocious filly and half-sister to multiple winners,” whose dam is a half-sister to Italian G1 winner Posidonas , and Letas Magic (Lot 91). The latter is bred to be very speedy indeed, as she is out of a quick, stakes placed winner of four and second dam is a half-sister to four stakes horses –notably the Indigo Magic sired G2 Merchants winner Shades Of Indigo.

Deceased Storm Cat horse Where’s That Tiger also has two in the Oldlands draft –Netta (Lot 158) is a filly from the family of G1 winning fillies Captain’s Gal and Yquem as well current high class 3yo Cirillo, while Cubanelle (Lot 120) is a half-brother to 3 winners and is from the immediate family of high class sprinter, and G1 Computaform Sprint second, Pinnacle Peak.
Netta is described by Barbara as “a rangy, classy filly who is out of a half-sister to (Oldlands Stud bred multiple stakes winner) Tuvana Silva,” while Cubanelle is said to be a very strong colt, from a family that constantly produces winners.
