Anton Shepherd’s Beaumont Stud, the breeders of the record breaking dual Horse Of The Year Variety Club, will be offering a high class draft at the 2019 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.

Beaumont’s eight strong draft (two of whom are offered as agent) includes yearlings by proven G1 sires Var (whose 20 plus G1 horses include none other than Variety Club!), Twice Over, Querari, What A Winter and Pomodoro, as well as a colt from the first crop of G1 Cape Guineas winner Act Of War.

Dual Leading Sire of 2YOs, Var is represented in this draft by a colt (Lot 446) whose Myboycharlie sired dam Merry Go Round is a half-sister to G2 Gimcrack Stakes winner Blaine.

Sire of the moment, Twice Over, has a cracking trio of fillies in this draft –his daughter (Lot 416) out of Katies Star is a half-sister to G2 Merchants winner Varikate. Twice Over is also represented here by a half-sister (Lot427) to Langerman runner up Big Pleasure, as well as a daughter of the smart, G3 performer Mairingi Bay.

Consistently successful sire Querari has a colt (Lot 433) out of the three time winning Silvano mare Light My Candle, a half-sister to speedy stakes performer King James. This colt is bred on the same cross as the graded stakes winners Wonderwall and Cosmic Light.

Former July winner Pomodoro made a great start to his stud career, and was South Africa’s Leading First Crop Sire of 2017-2018. The sire of multiple G1 winning champion Return Flight is represented in this draft by a colt (Lot 538) out of the classically bred Rakeen (grandsire of Pomodoro!) mare Strait To Bed- whose numerous high class relatives include G1 Prix Vermeille winner Pearly Shells, and G1 Hollywood Turf Cup winner Frenchpark –as well as 2019 classic hope, and 2018 G1 Vertem Futurity Trophy winner Magna Grecia.

There were fewer tougher Cape racemares in recent years than Money Surger (who won 10 of 87 races!) and she is represented in the Beaumont draft by a colt (Lot 457) by champion sprinter, and red hot sire, What A Winter.

Dynasty’s brilliant Cape Guineas winner Act Of War looks an exciting stallion prospect, and the Summerhill Stud resident is represented here by a colt (Lot 539) whose 3 time winning dam is a full-sister to the G1 winners Redberry Lane and Solo Traveller.
