Clifton Stud’s Peter and Jenny Blyth have produced some outstanding racehorses over the years, with their star performers including former Horse Of The Year Classic Flag, Charity Mile hero Bezanova and Fillies Guineas winner Glenrossal.

Based in Rosetta, Clifton Stud will be offering four yearlings, two as agent, at the 2019 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, due to take place at the TBA complex from April 24th -26th next month.

What A Flight (Lot 382) is the first of the Clifton draft to come forward for sale. This filly is a daughter of triple Equus Champion and increasingly successful stallion What A Winter, whose notable daughetrs thus far includ G1 Majorca Stakes winner Clouds Unfold, multiple graded stakes winner Magical Wonderland and smart debut winner Fly Away.
The filly on sale is out of a winning Jet Master mare who is bred on very similar lines to the Jet Master sired multiple G1 winner Ebony Flyer (dam of the smart performers Captain Of Tortuga and Cot Campbell).

Equus Champion and triple G1 winner Capetown Noir (like What A Winter a son of Western Winter) has made a pleasing start with his first runners including the very smart filly Brandina. He is represented in the Clifton draft by a beautifully bred colt (Lot 450) whose winning Galileo sired dam is an own sister to the stakes winning Eye Of The Storm and half-sister to multiple group winner Satchem.

The world’s premier sire Galileo is also to be found in the pedigree of the chestnut colt (Lot 516) out of the G3 performer Sauna’s Rose. From the immediate family of Horse Of The Year and sire Legislate, this colt is from the first crop of Galileo’s G3 winning son Flying The Flag, a regally bred own brother to the G1 winners Magical and Rhododendron.
Gold Ensign (Lot 557) is a colt by Equus Champion Sprinter, and promising Captain Al sire, Captain Of All. This colt is out of the G3 performer Theta –a full-sister to KZN Breeders 1600 winner Carbon Leader.
