Nicky Bartlett’s Danika Stud will be triply represented at the 2019 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, which takes place from April 24th-26th this year.

Danika has produced a string of high class performers over the years including the G1 wining mother-son pair of Lady Brompton and Kings Gambit, Equus Champion and G1 Premier’s Champion Stakes winner Kochka, smart Dubai performer Zanzamar, and the recent G2 Hawaii Stakes winner Zouaves.

The Danika trio at the National Sale are made up of yearlings by Elusive Fort, Global View and the in-form Kingmambo stallion Ideal World.

The latter (whose progeny also include the Met winners Smart Call and Rainbow Bridge) is the sire of Blue Planet (Lot 400), a colt out of the Kalanisi mare Irish Royal, whose four runners to date have all won. Blue Planet’s second dam Second Performance (also granddam of Derby Trial winner Gambado –also by a son of Kingmambo) is a daughter of Sadler’s Wells and Breeders’ Cup Mile winning champion Royal Heroine.

Well established sire and former Equus Champion Elusive Fort is responsible for Space News (Lot 437), a half-brother to the very smart Pen-Chan. Space News’ dam Lunar Lady is a winning ¾ sister to the dam of graded stakes winners Magical Wonderland and Magico, and further back this is the family of G1 winning half-brothers Golden Peak and Record Edge.

The very exciting Galileo son Global News, whose first yearlings have already made up to R1 300 000, is represented in the Danika draft by Vista Nova (Lot 193). The latter, a half-brother to a multiple winner, is out of a stakes placed Al Mufti mare who is a three-parts sister to the Al Mufti sired Met winner Alastor. This is the immediate family of multiple G1 winner Eyes Wide Open and Met winner Wild West.
