EVERGREEN FARM TO OFFER BLUE BLOODED COLT AT NATIONAL SALE
1 April 2019

Paarl based Evergreen Farm will be offering a single lot at the 2019 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, but this colt (Lot 10) is a truly blue blooded individual.

He is from the very first crop of G2 Amsterdam/Bay Shore Stakes winner Coup De Grace, the only son of triple US champion sire Tapit currently at stud in South Africa. Tapit, whose progeny have earned over $169 million, is the sire of over 100 stakes winners, 25 G1 winners, and five individual Breeders’ Cup winners, with his sons Tapizar and Concord Point having both already sired G1 winners.
The lighting fast Coup De Grace, who set a debut over six furlongs on debut, is a half-brother to G1 Alcibiades Stakes winner Dancing Rags and his granddam is the G1 Breeders’ Cup Distaff winning champion Jewel Princess.
His son out of the Among Men mare Western Smoke is a half-brother to five winners (who won 15 races between them), most notably Link Man –the Equus Champion Two Year Old Colt in 2010, and a millionaire whose four graded victories included the G1 Gold Reef Resorts Medallion and G2 Gauteng Guineas.

Western Smoke herself is out of the Rakeen mare Western Princess- a full-sister to multiple G1 winner North By Northwest, and this colt’s third dam is the G1 performer Gone West.
