GELYKFONTEIN STUD OFFER TWO WELL BRED LOTS AT NATIONAL SALE
1 April 2019

Stalwart National Sale supporters, the Gelykfontein Stud, will be offering two extremely well bred yearlings at the 2019 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale next month.

The beautifully bred Master Of Power (Lot 62) is a colt by Jet Master’s top class son Master Of My Fate, a hugely exciting young stallion whose early crops have already yielded millionaire Twist Of Fate, Ruffian Stakes winner Basadi Faith and Derby Trial victor Gift For The Gap.

Master Of Power is out of a winning half-sister to Ladies Mile winner Catalina, and his second dam is a six time winning half-sister to G1 winning sprinter Harry’s Echo and dual Broodmare Of The Year Stormsvlei. The latter found everlasting fame when mated to Jet Master (sire of Master Of My Fate) with that mating producing both triple Horse Of The Year Pocket Power and globetrotting G1 J&B Met winner, and G3 producer, River Jetez.

Second in the string is Ecstatic Green (Lot 343), a filly by sire sensation Gimmethegreenlight, whose progeny include such notable graded stakes winning fillies as Gimme Six, Green Plains and Green Pepper. This filly, bred on similar lines to the sire’s G2 winner Hack Green as well as Breeders’ Cup winning sire Pluck, is a half-sister to G2 Ipi Tombe Challenge runner up Sea Shadow, and her second dam is a winning half-sister to Derby winner and July runner up Superwood.

Further back, this is the family of champions London News, Kings Gambit and Promisefrommyheart –the dam of the aforementioned top class performer and sire Master Of My Fate.

The Gelykfontein pair will be found at TBA complex in boxes E37 and E39, and the draft’s catalogue pages are online at www.bsa.co.za
