Nestled on 950ha in proven horse country,Piketberg farm Moutonshoek has been producing quality racehorses since 2004.

Among the list of high class performers bred at Moutonshoek are G1 Rising Sun Gold Challenge winner Undercover Agent, graded stakes winners Fortune Fella, Wheredowego and Eighth Wonder, recent Oaks Trial winner Bize, and the very talented Majestic Mambo –who contested the 2019 G1 Dubai Turf.

Moutonshoek will be offering an even 20 yearlings at this year’s Emperors Palace National Sale, with their draft including lots by such top class stallions as Captain Al, Gimmethegreenlight, Silvano and Trippi, as well as by the likes of Flower Alley, Judpot, Mambo In Seattle, and the tragically short-lived Soft Falling Rain.

Multiple champion sire Silvano has two in the draft –a filly (Lot 7) out of G2 winner Waywest Goddess, and a filly (Lot 8) who is a ¾ sister to G1 Vodacom Durban July winner and Equus Champion Marinaresco.

Deceased champion sire Captain Al, whose progeny include at least two graded stakes winners bred by Moutonshoek, has a trio of lots here –a filly (Lot 19) whose dam is a half-sister to G2 Colorado King Stakes winner Halve The Deficit, a filly (Lot 56) from the family of multiple US G1 winner and successful sire Slew City Slew, and a ¾ sister (Lot 210) to dual Algoa Cup winner Disco Al.

Travers Stakes winner and proven G1 sire Flower Alley also has 3 lots in the draft –a daughter (Lot 30) of a G3 placed ¾ sister to champion Princess Victoria, a half-brother (Lot 267) to the very talented BSA August Million winner Broadway Trip, and a half-sister (Lot 432) to Bize.

Champion sire Trippi is represented here by a half-sister (Lot 171) to 5 winners including G3 winner Wheredowego, while rising sire star Gimmethegreenlight is the sire of two lots in the Moutonshoek draft, including a colt (Lot 45) whose dam is a half-sister to G1 Champions Cup winner Orbison.

Other lots of interest in this imposing draft include the Soft Falling Rain half-brother (Lot 281) to talented G1 performer Noble Secret, the Judpot half-brother (Lot 373) to G3 Cape Classic winner Eighth Wonder, and the Mambo In Seattle colt (Lot 477) out of a stakes winning ¾ sister to Undercover Agent.
