NARROW CREEK STUD ARE A PERFECT TEN AT NATIONAL SALE!
11 April 2019

John Everett’s Narrow Creek Stud has been enjoying plenty of success of late, with the farm’s recent graduates including such notable graded stakes winners as Elusive Heart and Pinnacle Peak (Narrow Creek also raised R3.4 million plus earner Dutch Philip), as well as eye catching recent two-year-old winners Ferrari Red and Fly Away.
This year, Narrow Creek bring a truly outstanding draft to the  Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, with their consignment including lots by such top class stallions as Querari, What A Winter, Duke Of Marmalade,  Elusive Fort, and the ever reliable Var.
The latter, whose progeny include more than 20 G1 performers, is represented here by a filly (Lot 127) whose dam is a winning full-sister to champion sprinter Mythical Flight, and who is bred on the same Var/Jet Master cross as the talented performers Rivarine and Vardy.
Dutch Philip and Fly Away’s in-form sire What A Winter has two daughters in the draft –a filly (Lot 172) whose four time winning dam is a half-sister to both G1 winner African Appeal and the stakes winning dam of exported G1 winner Brave Mary, and a daughter (Lot 543) of a half-sister to 4 stakes horses including Derby winner St Tropez.

Narrow Creek has done extremely well with the progeny of Querari and that G1 winning son of Oasis Dream is represented here by two colts –Take On Me (Lot 386) is out of a half-sister to Oaks winner Sweetie Pie, while the colt out of Prosperous Storm (Lot 499) is out of a half-sister to 4 stakes winners including G3 Cowdin Stakes winner Boston Bull.

Equus Champion and proven G1 sire Elusive Fort has a trio of yearlings in the Narrow Creek draft –headed by Heartbreak Hotel (Lot 188) –a full-brother to G3 Prix du Cap winner Elusive Heart and half-brother to recent 2yo winner Ferrari Red. Catch Twenty Two (Lot 393) is an Elusive Heart half-brother to promising 2yo Fly Away, while Miss Wonderland (Lot 451) is a filly whose 3 time winning dam is a Silvano half-sister to the graded stakes winners Magical Wonderland and Magico.
The short-lived Equus Champion Soft Falling Rain (whose first runners include the very smart filly Gin Fizz) is represented by Misty Haze (Lot 213) a daughter of the winning Fort Wood mare Social Climber, a half-sister to none other than G1 Paddock Stakes winner Badger’s Gift.
