NDORO STUDS WELL BALANCED NATIONAL SALE DRAFT
11 April 2019

Wellington farm, the Ndoro Stud, will be consigning eight quality yearlings to the upcoming Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, with the draft composed of lots by such successful stallions as Duke Of Marmalade, Flower Alley, Querari and What A Winter.

Flower Alley, the only ever sire to throw a Kentucky Derby to stand at stud in South Africa, has two lots in the Ndoro draft –a colt (Lot 18) whose 3 time winning dam is a three-parts sister to Horse Of The Year and five time G1 winner Yard-Arm, and a colt (Lot 229) whose winning dam is a half-sister to multiple G1 winner Snowdance and the stakes winning Victorian Secret, whose 2yo Master Of Illusion recently won on debut.
Sire of the moment What A Winter is represented in the Ndoro draft by a filly (Lot 173) whose stakes placed dam is from the immediate family of graded stakes winners Bull Valley and Star Express, while Cartier Champion Duke Of Marmalade, whose daughters recently ran 1-2 in the G3 Umzimkhulu Stakes, has a filly (Lot 215) on offer whose relatives includ Equus Champion filly Lady In Black and fellow stakes winning fillies The Merry Widow and Jane S Piddy.

G1 winner and G1 sire Querari has a filly (Lot 287) whose 3 time winning dam is a half-sister to two graded stakes winners, notably G1 J&B Met king Martial Eagle, while Philanthropist, whose progeny include two Canadian champions as well as Hong Kong star Singapore Sling, is represented by a filly (Lot 317) whose dam is a winning half-sister to Oaks winner and outstanding producer Carolina Cherry. This is the immediate family of current top class 3yo filly Blossom –who looks sure to pick up a really good prize soon!
Judpot is another G1 sire represented here, and the sire of G1 winners Along Came Polly, Coral Fever, Forest Indigo and Juxtapose is responsible for a colt (Lot 440) whose siblings include the stakes placed Carlito Brigante and eight time winner Donnie Brasco.

Horse Of The Year and four time G1 winner Futura, whose first yearlings have already made up to R1 200 000, is the sire of a colt (Lot 463) whose winning dam is a full-sister to G2 performer Full Mast and half-sister to six time stakes winner Grandalea. This Futura colt is from the immediate family of Equus Champion and promising young sire Capetown Noir as well as the promising 2yo Green Laser.
