NUTFIELD TO OFFER TWO CLASSY COLTS AT NATIONAL SALE
11 April 2019

Nutfield Stud, the breeders of such high class performers as millionaire Elusive Silva and G1 Golden Slipper winner Chestnuts N Pearls, will be doubly represented at the 2019 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.

First of Nutfield’s offering is Northern Song (Lot 160) a colt by European champion and red hot stallion Oratorio. The latter, whose progeny include nearly 100 black type performers, has been in great form of late, with the triple G1 winning Oratorio’s recent star performers headed by the graded stakes winners Divine Odyssey (G2 Colorado King Stakes), Mardi Gras (G2 Senor Santa Stakes) and Van Halen (G3 Man O’War Sprint).

Northern Song himself is a half or full brother to 3 winners, including the stakes placed Viking Trail and 12 time winner Nordic Warrior. Out of a seven time winning Fort Wood mare, the colt on offer hails from the same family as Met winner Arctic Cove and Horse Of The Year Flobayou among others.

Tarantino (Lot 208) is a colt by the very exciting sire Master Of My Fate, whose first two crops have yielded a plethora of high class performers notably millionaire Twist Of Fate, brilliant Ruffian Stakes winner Basadi Faith, the promising G3 performer Triple Fate Line and Derby Trial hero Gift For The Gap.

His son Tarantino was produced by Ladies Mile winner Size Em Up –the dam of six previous runners, all of whom have won! Size Em Up’s previous notable performers include the G1 performer Uptothemoon and the classy stakes placed Size Does Count.
