TOP FAMILIES REPRESENTED IN WICKLOWS KZN DRAFT
29 May 2019

Rennie Price’s Wicklow Stud will be offering a quality draft at the 2019 KZN Yearling Sale, with Wicklow’s consignment made up of colts by the likes of Master Of My Fate, Global View, Bold Silvano, and Mambo In Seattle.
This draft is also notable for the quality of female lines represented, with Wicklow’s yearlings hailing from some exceptional families.

Rising sire star Master Of My Fate, whose first two crops have yielded the likes of Twist Of Fate and Basadi Faith, is the sire of a colt (Lot 191) whose winning dam is a Silvano half-sister to Cape Derby winner Top Seller, and this well bred colt hails from the same family as legendary South African champion Politician.

Galileo horse Global View, whose first yearlings have already made up to R1 300 000 in 2019, is represented by a colt (Lot 105) whose dam is an own-sister to G2 Al Rashidiya winner Forries Waltz, and this is the family of Cape Guineas winner Noah From Goa, triple Australian G1 winner Fawkner and the remarkable mare Gladness –to name a few!

A P Indy’s dual Canadian champion Marchfield has two colts in the Wicklow draft –the colt (Lot 20) out of You Belong To Me is a half-brother to the classy stakes performer and 12 time winner Villa Del Largo, while the colt (Lot 126) out of the French Listed winner Ingeburg is from the same female line as top class sire Inchinor, English classic winner Harbour Law, and Shadwell Stud’s dual G1 winning young sire Poet’s Word.

Former champion and G1 Vodacom Durban July winner Bold Silvano, whose progeny include the G1 winning Bold Respect, is the sire of a colt (Lot 268) whose granddam is a half-sister to the Met winners Badger’s Coast and Surfing Home, with the latter named South Africa’s Horse Of The Year in 1994. This is the only Bold Silvano yearling on offer at the sale.

Consistently successful sire Mambo In Seattle has three sons in the Wicklow draft –a colt (Lot 38) (bred on the same cross as stakes winner Mambonick) whose dam is a half-sister to the stakes winning dam of Noah From Goa, a colt (Lot 89) from the famous “E” family, and a colt (Lot 275) whose dam is a daughter of multiple champion sire Captain Al and the aforementioned Ingeburg.

The latter colt is bred on the same Mambo In Seattle/Captain Al cross as exported dual G1 winner Same Jurisdiction.
