The Klein Drakenstein based Evergreen Farm will be offering eight lots at the 2019 KZN Yearling Sale, set to take place at the Sibaya Casino next month.
Evergreen’s draft includes yearlings sired by such highly commercial stallions as Coup De Grace, Elusive Fort, Twice Over, Var, Vercingetorix and the red hot What A Winter.

Proven G1 sire Twice Over, whose son Do It Again won the recent G1 Rising Sun Gold Challenge, is represented by a colt (Lot 61) out of a Royal Academy mare whose granddam is multiple US G1 winner Sangue, while Let’s Get Even (Lot 93) is a colt, from the famous E family, by hugely exciting young sire and Equus Champion Vercingetorix (whose first crop stakes winners African Warrior and Hooves Of Troy are both KZN Yearling Sale graduates).

Fellow Equus Champion, and top filly sire, Elusive Fort, is the sire of a filly (Lot 125) whose three winning half-siblings include the stakes placed King Of Indians, while recently deceased G1 Middle Park Stakes winner Crusade is responsible for a colt (Lot 201) out of a five time winning daughter of Captain Al.

Another deceased sire represented by a yearling in the Evergreen draft is the Storm Cat horse Where’s That Tiger. The latter is the sire of a colt (Lot 204) whose dam is a winning own sister to multiple stakes winner Aluvial.

Red hot sires Var and What A Winter are represented in this draft by a pair of fillies, with Var the sire of a filly (Lot 231) out of a G3 winning daughter of Rock Of Gibraltar, and fellow G1 winning sprinter What A Winter responsible for a three-parts sister (Lot 263) to the smart stakes performer Leeuloop Jet (also by a son of Western Winter).

Zenbu (Lot 265) is a filly from the first crop of Tapit sire Coup De Grace, and this filly is out of a winning Western Winter daughter of G1 Garden Province Stakes winner Soft Landing –in other words, she is a filly with plenty of paddock value!
