Long time leading breeders, the Birch Bros, enjoyed notable success at the 2018 KZN Yearling Sale, when their Ideal World colt Macallan topped the sale when making R500 000 to the bid of trainer Louis Goosen.

The Birch Bros will be bringing forward another high-class consignment at the 2019 KZN Yearling Sale, with their draft made of yearlings by the likes of Captain Of All, Global View, Judpot, Master Of My Fate, Pomodoro and Vercingetorix.
Casadoro (Lot 59) is a filly by July winner and hugely promising sire Pomodoro (whose offspring include Equus Champion and 2019 July contender Return Flight) out of a three time winning daughter of champion Australian sire Lonhro. This filly is from a truly classic family with Casadoro’s numerous high class relatives including such stars as Le Moss, Levmoss, Sweet Mimosa, Sarah Lynx,  Witchcraft and Dilshaan.

Galileo son Global View is the sire of Global Dreamer (Lot 66), a half-brother to four winners from as many runners! Global Dreamer is out of an Encosta De Lago half-sister to an Australian stakes winner and hails from the same female line as globetrotting champion Pilsudski and the much talked about Cape galloper General Franco (also by a son of Galileo).
Now standing at the Birch Bros’ Vogel Vlei Stud, proven G1 sire Judpot has two colts in the draft –Sendforgold (Lot 200) is a colt out of a Western Winter three-parts sister to graded stakes winners Northern Heritage and Supreme Sunset, while Suave Judge (Lot 287) is a three-parts brother to the Judpot sired G2 Golden Slipper winner Final Judgement.
Vernichey (Lot 212) is a filly by Equus Champion and sire sensation Vercingetorix, whose first crop of 2yos has yielded the KZN Sale graduates and stakes winners African Warrior and Hooves Of Troy. The beautifully bred Vernichey is out of a 3 time winning daughter of Captain Al and her third dam is the G1 Golden Slipper winning champion Burst.

Equus Champion Captain Of All’s first two-year-olds include the stakes winners Captain Anne Bonny and What You Are, and the son of Captain Al is represented here by a colt (Lot 244) out of a stakes placed daughter of top class Australian sire Commands, and this is the family of such standout performers as Shirley Heights, Pentire, and Divine Proportions.

Another exciting sire represented is Master Of My Fate, whose first crop son Twist Of Fate is a runner in the 2019 G1 Vodacom Durban July. He is the sire of Gontravelin (Lot 283) a colt out of a winning three-parts sister to G3 Prix du Cap winner Cuvee Brut.

The 2019 KZN Yearling Sale will take place at the Sibaya Casino on July 4th and 5th, with each day of trading set to commence at 12pm sharp.
