Ascot Stud, long renowned as one of South Africa’s top nurseries of champion thoroughbreds, will be offering seven classy yearlings at the upcoming KZN Yearling Sale, set to take place just prior to the 2019 Vodacom Durban July on July 4th and 5th.

Ascot’s draft is made up of yearlings by their exciting resident sire Global View, as well as the likes of Captain Of All, Judpot and Mambo In Seattle.

A multiple graded stakes winning son of Galileo (and bred on the same cross as emerging sire sensation Gleneagles), Global View is the sire of four of the lots in this draft. The well bred stallion’s quartet includes a half-brother (Lot 9) to high-class performers Lightning Lecture and Welsh Pagan –and to the dam of exported Equus Champion Edict Of Nantes, and Storyland (Lot 129) –a filly whose dam is a four-time winning half-sister to G2 winner Irish Ranger.

Global View is also the sire of Global High (Lot 151) a filly out of a stakes placed winner of three who is from the same female line as Galileo’s great daughter Minding, and Global Ash (Lot 245). The latter is a colt out of the stakes winner Scented Ash –and hails from the immediate family of Horse Of The Year and promising young stallion Legislate.
Equus Champion Sprinter Captain Of All, whose early runners include such stakes winners as Captain Anne Bonny and What You Are, is the sire of Express All (Lot 35) –a half-sister to the very promising two-year-old Foreign Source, while Market Day (Lot 171) is a colt by proven G1 sire Judpot out of Oaks Trial winner Markofdistinction.
Last but no least in Ascot’s draft is Seattle Beat (Lot 259) –a colt by Mambo In Seattle (whose other progeny include the likes of Same Jurisdiction and Majestic Mambo) out of a 3 time winning Silvano three-parts sister to Sun Classique Handicap winner Silver Holly. This is also the family of champions Dog Wood and Enchanted Garden, as well as exported G1 Cape Guineas winner Elusive Gold.
