Legendary South African breeders, the Birch Bros, will be offering three two-year-olds at August’s National 2YO Sale.
First of the draft is Tropical Giver (Lot 156), a filly by proven Kris S horse Philanthropist. The well-related Tropical Giver, is out of a winning half-sister to G2 The Debutante winner Winterinthewoods, as well as to the dam of recent G3 Byerley Turk hero Tristful. Her granddam is a Fort Wood three-parts sister to the well performed Fort Vogue, and half-sister to Equus Champion Highland Night and dual G1 winner and sire Warm White Night.

Horse Of The Year and four time G1 winner Futura’s first crop includes Hereinafter (Lot 219), a filly who is closely related to three winners. Hereinafter’s dam is a winning half-sister to the stakes placed dam of G3 Cup Trial winner Kampala Campari, and her granddam is the Danehill sired multiple champion and five time G1 winner Laisserfaire. Further back, this is the family of champion sire Centaine and Melbourne Cup winner Rainbird.

Last, but by no means least, in this small but quality draft is Idolvar (Lot 287), a colt by Ideal World –also sire of G1 winners Rainbow Bridge, Smart Call and Samurai Warrior. Idolvar, bred on the same Ideal World/Var cross as G3 winner Zen Arcade, is out of a Var half-sister to G2 Premier Trophy winner Paterfamilias and to the G3 placed La Patineuse. This is the family of G1 winners Gluwein and Zeeno, as well as promising sire Skitt Skizzle and the very fast Melting.
