Schalkie Van Der Walt’s Gelykfontein Stud will be offering seven lots, two on behalf of Ambiance Stud, at the upcoming Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale.

This year’s National 2YO Sale will be conducted over two days, with the sale set to take place in Germiston from August 15th-16th, and it promises again to produce its share of high class gallopers!

Gelykfontein, who enjoyed a memorable sale at this year’s Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, will be offering two-year-olds by such stallions as Greys Inn, Oratorio, Querari and What A Winter- to name a few!

Perhaps the standout lot in this draft is Jubble Bubble (Lot 228), a filly by red-hot sire Querari. This filly is a full-sister to recent G2 Zulu Kingdom Explorer Golden Slipper winner Cockney Pride. Jubble Bubble, also a half-sister to the stakes placed Another Idea, is from an outstanding family with her relatives including such champions as Ice Cube and Whistling Dixie, and high-class international gallopers Grand Emporium and Singapore Sling.

Western Lateral (Lot 13) is a colt by former Leading First Crop Sire Lateral, and this colt, inbred to the great matron Glorious Song, is out of a full-sister to both multiple G1 winner North By Northwest and to the granddam of G1 winning champion Link Man.

July winning champion Greys Inn, whose progeny include dual Horse Of The Year Legal Eagle, has two lots in Gelykfontein’s draft. They are Grey’s Apple (Lot 40) –a filly from the family of July winner and hot young sire Pomodoro, and Master Grey (Lot 241). The latter, a half-brother to two winners, is out of a four time winning daughter of successful sire and emerging broodmare sire Kahal.

Red hot sire What A Winter, whose progeny include recent standout performers as Clouds Unfold, Armando and Snow Report, is represented here by What You Want (Lot 50) –a colt whose granddam is a G3 placed daughter of champion sire Danehill Dancer and multiple champion Arabian Lass.

Northern Tune (Lot 112) is a colt by dual Guineas winner Noordhoek Flyer from the family of graded stakes winners Elegant Al and Catherina Lady, while Giratorio (Lot 136) is a colt by proven G1 sire and multiple G1 winner Oratorio and he is a half-brother to five winners (from as many runners!) including Bauhinia Handicap winner Crown Of Roses.
