Cape farm, the Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud, will be offering a large, quality draft at the 2019 Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale.
Hemel ‘N Aarde will be offering 22 two-year-olds at August’s sale, with the draft including youngsters by such sires as Elusive Fort, Flower Alley, Gimmethegreenlight, Jay Peg, Pathfork, and What A Winter –to name but a few.

Multiple Equus Champion, and boom sire, What A Winter, has four in the Hemel ‘N Aarde draft –a colt (Lot 34) out of a Jet Master half-sister to the stakes placed African Rhythm, a filly (Lot 257) from the family of star fillies Circle Of Life, Teclafields and Taima Bluff, a half-sister (Lot 330) to millionaire Captain And Master and the promising Shango, and a colt (Lot 364) from the same female line as champions Along Came Polly and Young Rake.

Red hot G1 L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate winner Gimmethegreenlight has two on offer –a filly (Lot 72), closely inbred to Golden Slipper winner Canny Lad, who is a half or full-sister to six winners, and a filly (Lot 22) out of a four time winning daughter of Silvano, and who is thus bred on the same cross as high-class performer Barahin.

Travers Stakes winner Flower Alley made a bright start with his first 2yos in South Africa, and the sire of champions I’ll Have Another and Lukes Alley is the sire of a filly (Lot 10) whose dam is a Galileo half-sister to none other than multiple G1 winner and Equus Champion Sun Classique.

Equus Champion and proven G1 sire Elusive Fort has two in this draft –a colt (Lot 109) out of a four time winning Jet Master mare whose relatives include Equus Champion Seventh Plain, and a half-brother (Lot 127) to recent winner Sullenberger from the family of G1 winners Bon Hoffa and Rosdhu Queen.

Globetrotting champion and resident Hemel ‘N Aarde sire Jay Peg has five lots in this draft, including a filly (Lot 21) whose dam is a half-sister to G1 winner Exhilaration, a full-sister (Lot 211) to the useful Tommy Waterdevil, and a half-sister (Lot 258) to four winners including G2 Gold Bowl runner up Lions Emblem.

Other intriuging lots in this draft include a Pathfork half-sister (Lot 102) to G2 winner Demanding Lady (dam of G1 Gbets Cape Derby runner up and R6 000 000 buy Charles), a Fencing Master colt (Lot 296) who hails from the wonderful Party Time family, and a Fencing Master filly (Lot 318) from the immediate family of Hong Kong Horse Of The Year Sacred Kingdom.
