HEVERSHAM OFFER QUALITY DRAFT AT NATIONAL 2YO SALE
24 July 2019

Gauteng farm, Heversham Park Farm, will be offering nine two-year-olds at the upcoming Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale.
Heversham’s draft should appeal to a range of buyers, with their consignment including lots by such popular and commercially appealing stallions as Act Of War, Flower Alley, Flying The Flag, Querari,  and Soft Falling Rain.
Querari, whose recent runners include such graded stakes winners as Cockney Pride, Head Honcho and Kampala Campari, is represented by a colt (Lot 6) whose dam is a five time winning daughter of top sire Var and stakes winner Miss Unimac.

Short-lived champion Soft Falling Rain, whose first 2yos made a big impression in 2018-2019, is the sire of a colt (Lot 123) whose half-brother Battle Of Alesia won recently, and this colt is from the family of short-lived G1 Cape Guineas winner Flight Alert –who, like Soft Falling Rain, was a son of National Assembly.
Rhododendron and Magical’s G3 winning brother Flying The Flag is responsible for a filly (Lot 147) whose dam is the stakes placed Hancock News, while proven G1 sire Judpot is the sire of a filly (Lot 205) whose dam is a ¾ sister to international G1 winners Irridescence and Perfect Promise.

Global View, whose first yearlings made up to R1.3 million, has a filly (Lot 212) on offer whose G3 placed granddam is a full-sister to champion Historic Lady, while Cape Guineas hero Act Of War’s first crop includes a filly (Lot 288) whose dual winning dam is a half-sister to Hampton Handicap winner American Emblem.

The Noble Tune colt (Lot 310) out of Refined Gold hails from the same family as legendary champion Horse Chestnut, while proven G1 sire, sadly now deceased, Toreador has a colt (Lot 325) whose dam (a granddaughter of Storm Cat) won four times.

Flower Alley, the only sire in South Africa to have sired a Kentucky Derby winner, is also represented in this draft. He is the sire of a filly (Lot 333) out of a four time winning daughter of Silvano, who hails from the same family as Irish classic winner Araafa and outstanding, breed-shaping sire Pivotal.
