Rous Bros, trading as the Henham Stud,  will be offering four quality two-year-olds at August’s Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale.

The breeders of recent G3 DStv Gold Vase winner, and Equus Award nominee, Walter Smoothie, the Rous Bros will offering four lots by such stallions as Ato, Byword, Global View and the very exciting Vercingetorix –making this a draft of interest to any discerning buyer.

Former G1 Krisflyer International Sprint winner Ato, whose small first crop yielded stakes winners Chijmes and Sygone, is the sire of Fancy Dan (Lot 39). The latter, a half-brother to 2 winners, and this colt’s dam is a winning half-sister to Irish stakes winner Anzari, and this is the family of four time G1 winner and successful sire Azamour, and Arrowfield Stud’s new sire, and five time G1 winner, The Autumn Sun.

Equus champion Vercingetorix made a superb start with his first 2yos including such stakes winners as African Warrior, Viking Moon and Hooves Of Troy, and that son of Silvano is represented here by Hawi. This colt (Lot 149) is out of the Al Mufti sired G2 SA Fillies Nursery winner Hawaiian Wahoo, and is as such bred on a similar cross to the G1 winners Al Sahem, Bold Silvano and Kings Gambit.

Byword, whose progeny include G1 winner Camphoratus,  is the sire of Axiom (Lot 155), a filly whose dam won four times over 1400m. The well related Axiom’s granddam is  a full-sister to G2 winning 2yo Giorgio and to the dam of game, front running G1 winner Patchouli Dancer.

Point Of View (Lot 362) is a filly from the very first crop of Galileo’s dual graded stakes winning son Global View –whose first yearlings fetched up to R1 300 000. Point Of View herself is out of a dual winning daughter of champion sire, and increasingly successful broodmare sire Captain Al, and she hails from the immediate family of G1 winner and legendary sire Danehill –whose daughters have done so well when mated to Global View’s own legendary sire –Galileo!
