FORTUNE RACING OFFERS WELL BRED PAIR AT READY TO RUN SALE
7 October 2019

The Fortune Racing team will be offering two well related two-year-olds at this year’s Emperors Palace Ready To Run Sale, set to take place at the TBA complex in Germiston on November 3rd.
Oak King (Lot 36) is a colt from the second South African crop of G1 Travers Stakes winner Flower Alley, whose numerous high-class runners overseas include champions I’ll Have Another, Lukes Alley, and My Wandy’s Girl. Flower Alley made a highly encouraging start with his first South African runners including the unbeaten Alibi Guy, as well as the likes of Bayberry, Parterre, Rille, Keep Smiling and Date Palm.

His son Oak King is a half-brother to six winners, notably the graded stakes winners Our Emperor and Platinum Class, and the classy G3 performer Noor.

Out of Jet Master’s G3 Umzimkhulu Stakes winning daughter Express Queen, Oak King is from the same family as speedy filly Tuscan Elegance (dam of Godolphin Barb Stakes winner Tuscan Sky), and high-class sprinters and top class sire full brothers Golden Thatch and Thatching.
Irish champion Pathfork, a half-brother to the 2019 G1 Preakness Stakes winner War Of Will, is the sire of a well bred filly in the form of Afternoon Tea (Lot 116). Out of a four time winning daughter of champion sire Royal Academy (whose other broodmare daughters include South African Broodmare Of The Year Mystic Spring), Afternoon Tea is a half-sister to five winners, notably the very talented Royal Italian –who was placed in both the Listed Storm Bird and Listed Summer Juvenile Stakes at two.
Further back, this is the family of 2000 Guineas winner Right Tack.
