The exquisite Winterbach Stud, situated just outside Stellenbosch, will be offering a small but slect draft at this year’s Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.

Winterbach Stud will be offering seven yearlings (four as agent) at South Africa’s premier thoroughbred auction, with the draft made up of lots by such popular and exciting stallions as Gimmethegreenlight, Master Of My Fate, Pathfork, Twice Over, Vercingetorix and William Longsword.

Former National Sale graduate, and current sire sensation, Vercingetorix is the sire of Val D’Orcia (Lot 450), a colt out of Oaks Trial winner Tuscan Lass.
This colt is bred on a very similar cross to the very talented Tellina, winner of both the 2013 G2 Gauteng Guineas and 2014 G3 London News Stakes.

Irish champion Pathfork, the sire of, among others, this season’s top sprinter Mr Flood has two in this draft. Shikoku (Lot 142) is a half-sister to G2 World Sports Betting Camellia Stakes winner Schippers and is out of G3 Magnolia Handicap winner Fair Rosalind, while Celestial Magma (Lot 155) is a full-brother to the smart For The Ladies Stakes winner Secret Star

Red hot sire Gimmethegreenlight, sire of stakes winners in both Australia and South Africa, is represented in this draft by Sir Tallin (Lot 50), a colt out of a winning half-sister to high-class two-year-old Berlusconi, while Amicus Curiae (Lot 417) not only shares her sire Twice Over with South Africa’s reigning Horse Of The Year Do It Again, but this filly is out of a five time winning daughter of G1 Style Magazine Challenge winner Divided Loyalty.

Master Of My Fate, sire of the likes of Twist Of Fate and Driving Miss Daisy, has a filly (Lot 433) out of a winning three-parts sister to South African Horse Of The Year Yard-Arm , while Captain Al’s popular Cape Guineas winning son William Longsword is represented in this draft by Polar World (Lot 332) –a filly out of a winning half-sister to high-class sprinter Polar Moon.

Further back, Masters Queen hails from the family of champions Gabor and Legislate, as well as G1 Thekwini Stakes winner Roxanne.
