Summerhill Sales will be offering a high-class draft at this year’s Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, due to take place in Germiston from April 22nd to 24th.
The classy draft, which includes siblings to four G1 winners, is made up of yearlings by all of Act Of War, Capetown Noir, Coup De Grace, Ideal World, Trippi and Dubawi’s G1 SA Nursery winner Willow Magic.

Fisher King (Lot 180), a colt by the well performed Willow Magic, is a half-brother to three winners notably G1 SA Derby winner Hero’s Honour and G1 Thekwini Stakes second Railtrip, and he hails from the same family as such outstanding international gallopers as Oasis Dream, Kingman, and Beat Hollow.

This colt is bred on a similar cross to that which produced English classic winner, and red hot stallion, Night Of Thunder.

Willow Magic is also the sire of the well bred Red Juniper (Lot 220), a half-sister to five winners notably G1 Daily News 2000 winning sire Rabada and the very smart Glider Pilot, while yet another well connected yearling by the sire is Mon Tresor (Lot 323). The latter is a half-sister to no fewer than nine winners, including G1 SA Classic winner Love Struck and the quick, stakes winning filly Fakazi.

Another well bred filly with tons of paddock value in this draft is La Dreamer (Lot 254)- a Capetown Noir half-sister to charismatic G1 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Classic heroine Takingthepeace and she is out of high-class racemare Lisa Anne.

Champion sire Trippi is represented in this draft by a  filly (Lot 239) out of a G3 winning daughter of National Assembly, while proven G1 sire Ideal World has two yearlings in Summerhill’s draft. They are Leeson (Lot 331), a half-brother to 2 winners out of a daughter of Golden Slipper winner Dignify, and Golden Grove (Lot 367), a half-sister to 3 winners notably G3 Strelitzia Stakes winner Royal Pleasure.

Summerhill’s promising young sire Act Of War has three in the draft, including a colt (Lot 403) out G3 Pretty Polly Stakes runner up Solarium, and a half-brother (Lot 426) to eight winners including G1 Summer Cup runner up Shogunnar.

Other appealing lots in this draft include a Willow Magic filly (Lot 90) out of classy racemare Coby, the Capetown Noir filly (Lot 125) filly out of G3 Strelitzia Stakes winner and high-class producer Elegant Blush, and the Coup De Grace colt (Lot 286) out of Var’s stakes placed daughter Miss Marker.
