BENMARNE STUD TO OFFER CLASSY FILLIES AT NATIONAL SALE

The Benmarne Stud will be offering two beautifully bred fillies at this years Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.

Troubadix (Lot 58) is a daughter of Equus Champion, and former National Sale graduate, Vercingetorix, whose stellar first crop includes such high-class performers as millionaire African Warrior, Gauteng Guineas Ikigai and Daily News 2000/WSB Guineas runner up Padre Pio. Vercingetorix has also made a tremendous start with his second crop highlighted by G1 Allan Robertson Championship winner Vernichey.

The filly in question is a half-sister to five winners, notably the Classic Flag sired stakes winner Eurakilon, and the latters stakes placed full-brother Ice Flag. Troubaxs dam, Break The Ice, is a seven time winning own-sister to the dam of Drum Star Handicap hero House Of Wax, and her granddam is the Foveros sired SA Oaks winner Fast Break.

Free As The Wind (Lot 337) is another filly who already has plenty of paddock value. A daughter of the ever popular, and increasingly successful, Querari, Free As The Wind is a full-sister to G1 Thekwini Stakes winner Querari Falcon as well as to R1 600 000 buy Somniferum.

Her dam, Pretty Waves, is a winning half-sister to G1 Paddock Stakes winner Savannah Queen and G1 FNB "1600" hero Follow The Falcon, while Free As The Winds granddam is none other than former South African Broodmare Of The Year Pretty Falcon.

This years National Sale is now due to take place in Germiston on July 31st and August 1st, and the online catalogue can be viewed at www.bsa.co.za
