The Birch Bros, whose Vogel Vlei Stud has produced some of the greatest racehorses ever bred in South Africa, will be offering a quality consignment at this years Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale.


Their draft is made up of colts sired by the likes of Coup De Grace, Global View, Ideal World, Pathfork, Red Ray, Twice Over, Vercingetorix and William Longsword, and includes two-year-olds from the very best families in the South African stud book.


One lot which is bound to catch the eye is Mactavish (Lot 249), a colt by European champion Twice Over out of the three time winning Captain Al mare Pirate Queen. This makes Mactavish a half-brother to Vernichey -winner of last seasons G1 Allan Robertson Championship and one of South Africas top two-year-old fillies of 2019-2020.


Vegas Hi Rise (Lot 58) is a colt by Vernicheys hugely promising sire Vercingetorix, and he is out of a 3 time winning daughter of Australian champion sire Lonhro.


Vogel Vleis resident sire, and G1 Mercury Sprint winner, Red Ray is the sire of Red Magician (Lot 10), and this colt hails from the same family as G1 Computaform Sprint winner Noble Heir, herself dam of Australian group winner Crown Witness. This colt traces back in female line to one of the most important broodmares in the South African studbook -Drohsky.


Global Perspective (Lot 187) is a colt by the hugely exciting Galileo horse Global View, and he is out of a winning daughter of five time G1 winner and multiple champion Laisserfaire, while Irish champion Pathfork is responsible for Dozen Forks (Lot 360), a colt whose dam is a half-sister to G2 Golden Slipper winner Final Judgement.


Fill Your Boots (Lot 234) is a colt by Tapit horse Coup De Grace out of US stakes winner Only In Philly, while Edward Longshanks (Lot 242), a colt from the first crop of Cape Guineas winner William Longsword, is out of a Var half-sister to 2 black type horses notably G2 Premier Trophy winner Paterfamilias.
