CORNERSTONE STUD TO OFFER 13 AT NATIONAL 2YO SALE

The Cornerstone Stud will be well represented at this years Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale, with the Wierdapark based farm offering 13 well related two-year-olds at the two-day sale.

Cornerstones draft is made up of lots sired by all of Act Of War, Brave Tin Soldier, Capetown Noir, Go Deputy, Vercingetorix, Willow Magic and Wylie Hall.

One lot sure to find favour with buyers is the unnamed filly (Lot 147) by the exciting Cape Guineas winning sire Act Of War. This filly, who hails from the same family as former July winner Gondolier, is a half-sister to promising three-year-old MKs Pride.

The cleverly named Obelix At Sea (Lot 284) is a colt by hugely promising sire Vercingetorix, and he is out of the well performed Saltwater Girl -who won seven and ran third in the G2 Gold Circle Oaks.

Dubawis G1 winning son Willow Magic has made a promising start to his stud career, and the G1 SA Nursery has two juveniles on offer. His colt (Lot 227) out of the Carson City mare Nevada Sunrise is a half-sister to Mauritian champion Solar Star, while his colt (Lot 310) out of Met winner Angus own sister Snooty Lady is a half-brother to 10 winners notably G3 Cape Classic runner up Lostintranslation and to the dam of G3 Final Fling Stakes winner Star Fighter.

Former SA Derby/Presidents Champions Challenge winner Wylie Hall is responsible for four two-year-olds in Cornerstones draft. His quartet includes Fort Aurora (Lot 253), a filly out of a winning Fort Wood half-sister to KwaZulu-Natal Stakes winner Charming Lady and Invincible Wall (Lot 329) a colt out of a dual winning daughter of top Australian sire I Am Invincible.

Successful sire Go Deputy, whose progeny include, among others, the Triple Crown winner, Abashiri, has two lots on offer. De Mist (Lot 91) is a colt whose five time winning dam is a daughter of speedy East Cape Fillies Nursery winner Hard To Get, while Bravestone (Lot 175) is a colt from the same family as exported Cape Guineas winner Kilindini and top sprinter and successful sire Harry Hotspur.

Other appealing lots include the Capetown Noir half-brother (Lot 40) to the useful, stakes placed Waka Waka, and the Brave Tin Soldier filly (Lot 262) whose dam is a half-sister to the dam of Horse Of The Year, and promising young sire, Futura.
