David Southeys Southford Stud will be well represented at this years Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale, with the Karoo farm set to offer eight lots at the two day auction.


Southfords draft is composed of two-year-olds sired by all of Admiral Kitten, Great Britain, Twice Over and Wylie Hall, and lots hailing from some of the best families in the local stud book.


Al Quoz Sprint winner Great Britain, a full-brother to champion sire Cape Cross and sire of such high-class stakes winners as Al Mariachi, Wrecking Ball and Hashtag Strat, is responsible for four two-year-olds in this draft. Bobbety Boo (Lot 39) is a filly out of a 3 time winning daughter of Silvano whose granddam is a half-sister to G1 SA Nursery winner Travis McGee, while Trafalgar Square (Lot 189) is a colt out of a mare who won three and he is bred on the same cross as speedy G3 winner Wrecking Ball.


Great Britain is also the sire of Queens Navy (Lot 219), a filly from the family of champion sprinter The Barbican, and True Brit (Lot 259) a colt from the family of Greys Inn, Smart Call and Zeditave-to name but a few.


Southfords G1 winning resident sire Admiral Kitten is the sire of Family Favourite (Lot 239), a filly whose dam is a half-sister to dual G1 winning champion Here To Win, and Full Go (Lot 273). The latter is a colt whose winning dam is a full-sister to G1 Rising Sun Gold Challenge winner Undercover Agent, and granddam is Winter Oaks winner Secret Risk.


Other appealing lots in this draft include Twice As Splendid (Lot 116), a Twice Over colt out of 5 time winner Georgeous Gaby and Royal Rhapsody (Lot 263) -a Wylie Hall colt whose 4 time winning dam is a daughter of speedy Bauhinia Handicap winner Sovereign Beat.
