Robertson farm, the Black Swan Stud, will be well represented at this year’s Cape Yearling Sale, with Black Swan set to offer a seven strong draft.
The farm’s red-hot, resident sire Elusive Fort, whose progeny include former high-class Cape Yearling Sale graduate Elusive Heart, is responsible for four lots in this draft, with Ideal World, Philanthropist and Quasillo the other stallions represented.
Former Equus Champion Elusive Fort has been in sensational form this season, with his current flagbearers headed by star three-year-olds Catch Twentytwo and Kommetdieding, as well as Ardmore Jamaica Handicap winner Elusive Fortune and repeat Southeaster Sprint king Elusive Trader.
The son of Fort Wood’s quartet on offer include a filly (Lot 26) out of a Silvano half-sister to Drill Hall Stakes runner up Real Red, a colt (Lot 30) from the same female line as this season’s star three-year-olds Erik The Red and Malmoos, a colt (Lot 90) out of G3 Final Fling Stakes winner, and millionaire, Silvan Star and a full-brother (Lot 93) to two multiple winners with this colt hailing from the same female line as champion sprinter Rebel King.
Multiple G1 winner Golden Ducat’s sire Philanthropist is the sire of a colt (Lot 20) whose 3 time winning dam is a half-sister to the dam of the stakes winning Bursary, while Sea The Stars’ G3 winning son Quasillo is responsible for a colt (Lot 121) whose speedy dam won four times up to 1200m.
Last, but by no means least, in Black Swan’s draft is a colt (Lot 127) sired by the consistently successful Ideal World, sire of champions Smart Call and Hermoso Mundo, as well as multiple G1 winner Rainbow Bridge. The colt in question is out of a winning Dynasty mare, and he hails from the same female line as star half-sisters Captain’s Lover and Ebony Flyer as well as G1 L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate hero Vardy.
